Impressive Online Forum Risk Management Medical Devices
Familiar high quality in new virtual spaces. For the first time ever online, experts from the field of risk management, as well as those responsible for risk management at their respective companies, came together for two days for the 3rd Forum Risk Management Medical Devices held by DIETZ Consultants. The established industry meeting took place as a virtual network meeting as part of the measures to contain COVID-19 — and did so successfully, as participants and speakers agreed. Matthias Hölzer-Klüpfel (Software Engineering Medical Devices), for whom the forum was also technically very successful and “definitely one of the smoothest online events this year,” was of the same opinion.
It will be continued as a hybrid forum — online and offline — on November 30 and December 1, 2021
DIETZ Consultants wants to build on this. The date for next year has already been set. On November 30 and December 1, 2021, the 4th Risk Management Medical Devices will take place, hopefully this time in Nuremberg, but in any case it will also be available virtually as a simultaneous online event. Anyone who wants to be there should make a note of the date. This also applies to speakers who have ideas for exciting topics concerning medical technology. DIETZ Consultants also plans to establish this format in China, the second largest market for medical devices. The 1st Forum Risk Management in Medical Technology China is scheduled to take place next year. A date has not yet been set. Dietz Consultants will additionally establish the Forum Risk Management Medical Devices in China in 2021.
Professional technology, excellent lecture content, successful moderation and intensive networking in the virtual world
The use of highly professional broadcasting technology, a virtual conference tool and simultaneous translation paid off. In addition to live lectures, the conference tool offered access to online networking spaces and many interactive elements. The offer to follow the lectures in English made the forum interesting for international participants as well. “Thanks to these offerings and the outstanding speakers, our Online Forum has become a true virtual networking experience,” said Winfried Dietz. “Despite the limitations placed on the event due to COVID-19, which made it a purely online event, it was nonetheless a success!” agreed Prof. Dr. med. Clemens Bulitta of the Ostbayerische Technische Hochschule Amberg-Weiden: “Professional technology, excellent lecture content, successful moderation and even intensive networking in the virtual world. What more could you want!” All in all, “a very exciting, inspiring and professionally organized event, which, despite or perhaps because of the digital format, was characterized by a concentrated share of practical experience, the associated 'networking' and, last but not least, the competent expert presentations from one of the most important subsectors in medical technology,” said Stefan Mersmann (Drägerwerk AG & Co.KGaA).
Valuable answers to current questions in medical technology
Other speakers at the 3rd Forum Risk Management Medical Devices included Christian Weckert (Ypsomed AG), René Schmidt (Paul Hartmann AG), Dr. Boris Handorn (Produktkanzlei), Heike Ehlert (Balda Medical GmbH) and Dr. Andreas Purde (TÜV Süd). All of them were able to discuss their own experiences and provided valuable answers to current questions in medical technology — from the transition to ISO 14971:2019 and the implementation of the changed requirements to the influence of digital transformation on product safety. The Forum partner, Plato, also presented their current software solutions — another all-round successful online experience.
